Loài này phân bố tại các con sông lớn trên nền đáy cát hoặc bùn (Ref. 43281). Chúng thường sinh sống ở tầng đáy tại các dòng chảy của những con sông lớn và trung bình. Thức ăn chủ yếu là các loài động vật không xương sống ở tầng đáy. Cá được tiêu thụ dưới dạng cá tươi trong các mẻ lưới hỗn hợp (Ref. 12693).
