Phân bố tại các đỉnh rạn san hô nơi có sự phát triển phong phú của các loài san hô. Thường sinh sống giữa các nhánh san hô thuộc chi Pocillopora tại các vùng có sóng mạnh ở các rạn san hô hướng biển. Cũng được quan sát thấy sống giữa các nhánh của san hô lửa Millepora và Stylophora. Sống đơn độc hoặc theo các nhóm nhỏ.
