Phân bố tại các đầm phá và rạn san hô hướng biển. Ban ngày ẩn nấp trong các khe hở dưới tảng đá và các thể kiến tạo san hô, đi săn mồi vào ban đêm. Thường quay đầu hướng về nơi trú ẩn an toàn hoặc lối đi hẹp để phòng thân. Thức ăn chủ yếu gồm tôm và cua. Có độc tố và có khả năng gây ra vết chích đau đớn. Độ sâu tối thiểu ghi nhận được lấy từ Ref. 30874. Sống đơn độc hoặc theo nhóm dưới các gờ đá và hang hốc.
