Mô tả: Vây lưng: 0, 65 - 77, Vây hậu môn: 0, 41 - 50. Cơ thể hình bầu dục và dẹp; vây lưng kéo dài đến đầu; vây lưng không có gai cứng. Hàm dưới nhô rõ; có răng lá mía. Màu nền vàng hoặc nâu vàng; các vây lưng, vây hậu môn và vây đuôi nhạt màu hơn thân và có các đốm sẫm màu. Mặt mù có màu trắng nhạt. Một số tia vây lưng phía trước kéo dài ở con đực nhưng không có ở con cái, tất cả các tia vây ngoại trừ một số ít ở phần cuối phía sau của vây đều không phân nhánh. Vây ngực ở phía có mắt có 11 - 13 tia, ở phía không có mắt có 10 - 13 tia. Vây đuôi có 13 - 14 tia phân nhánh và rìa vây tròn.
