Cá sống đơn độc trong các ống rỗng bỏ hoang (Ref. 90102). Loài này phân bố tại các đầm phá nước trong và các rạn san hô hướng ra biển, nơi có sự kết hợp giữa san hô và đá phủ tảo. Đây là loài đẻ trứng. Trứng thuộc dạng trứng đáy, có tính dính (Ref. 205) và được gắn vào giá thể thông qua một đệm hoặc cuống dính dạng sợi (Ref. 94114). Ấu trùng sống phù du, thường được tìm thấy ở các vùng nước ven biển nông (Ref. 94114).

Found solitary in abandoned tubes (Ref. 90102). Inhabit clear lagoon and seaward reefs with mixed corals and algae-covered rocks. Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114).
